Toku Review: Kamen Rider Fourze the Movie: Everyone! Let's Feel the Universe

You know, I was sitting at this intro trying to think to write about the this series summer film. Like about how like mosquitoes, hot weather, and a need to feel cool. The next Rider movie comes in to either be their or one of the better ones. So instead let's just get on with this.

The Kamen Rider Club is recruited OSTO Legacy for a mission for the future of earth. A duo known as the space Ironmen, beings made of pure cosmic energy intend to use a sattelite weapon called XVII to destroy the planet. And after a quick training montage the group is sent out to stop the weapon and those who intend to stop them.

So this movie is great. And honestly I kind of am having a hard time putting it down. Because It is not good in the way that A to Z or Surprise Future were. It is good just like in the way that the show is good in its own unique way. Being just a really, really good thrill ride. With segments dedicated to giving context to what is going on and from their the action plays out. But I think what helps to make this one stands out is just the inclusion of allowing the rider club to get a bit in on the action too.

Not much mind you much of the heavier fighting still falls to Gentaro and Ryusei. But the members do have the time to shine in helping in the movie. Until the midpoint twist that reveals that the people who are shady are bad and have to escape so Fourze and Metoer... spend a little bit of time getting their heads kicked in by the villains. But that is one of the best things is that it feels like a group effort, even when they don't help with the fight, getting nearly everyone in the school to help (Even Gamou helps too) is a highlight of the film.

But that being said, the villains are weak, aside from a twist that you will probably see coming if you have seen beforehand, the space ironmen are just evil without much backstory besides they came from space. Some stuff is given to the space satellite as Gentaro tries to make friends with it, which feels in tone with the character, even if it makes things harder for them, it is about being the better person here.

Fourze struggling with his fifth grade words.

But the highlight is just in terms of how the film looks and the action plays out, Fourze's movie may just be one of the better looking films with plenty of solid set pieces from the inital bike fight, Wizard's intro and snarky attitude does well to set him apart, Fusion doesn't look terrible all things considered. What it may lack in terms of story content it does make up for in just being one fun ride.

CONCLUSION

Fourze's movie may not be one of the deepest but I think what allows it to stand out is that it is one of the best in terms of movie action and payoff that I think many rider films sometimes fails to do. Like the show and much else it does is through its charm and you know. In this case the charm never wears out.

FINAL GRADE: A+
