Goseiger was a series that was very much so okay it's average, their were things I feel it did good, but it felt very much like a season that didn't make much use of the things that made it unique. But a series is never the best measure of the quality of its additional content. Gaim for example despite how quality the show was had some extremely mediocre to bad films, and Ninningers films were probably the best content related to the show. So maybe the movies wlll stand out.
EPIC ON THE MOVIE
While Alata finds a mysterious girl who seems troubled. New trouble finds its way to the planet in the form of Warstar remanents, and Buredoran returns to be a part of this since the Yuumanjuu don't do much. Anyway the girl, Rasil is the guardian of the horn of Ragnorok that the Warstar intend to use destroy the planet.
Epic on the Movie is... okay, it is probably one of the most average summer films this franchise has probably done. I like the idea of Warstar remnants being the main villains is a nice idea, even if it does push the current villains sans Buredoran out for them. But personality wise they are just as uninteresting as their originals. The new girl has some intersting concepts but since it is just a slightly bigger budgeted and higher staked episode, we really learn nothing. Gosei knight shows up since I have a feeling this was filmed before he really showed up so a scene was done to give him something, and we get our standard addition in mecha in the form of wonder gosei great which, yeah that's blue gosei great. This... this is that hard kind of average to talk about, that it is fine, it is competent, and really not much else.
GOSEIGER VS. SHINKENGER: EPIC ON GIMMAKU
Following the defeat of the Yuumanjuu and losing contact with their mentor Master Headder, a new foe shows up or an old foe, the Gedoshu have returned and ambush Alata while he is out, he is saved by Takeru who calls his retainers to fight the returned Gedoshu. The new leader turns out to be Buredoran, hoping to achieve both his goals of destroying the world and giving the gedoshuu their desire of controlling the world.
I'll just say this right now, Goseiger vs. Shinkenger kicks a ton of ass, no kidding if their is any reason to see this it is Gedou Shinken Red, the black replacing the white longcoat is so incredible as far as a color swap it matches so well with both the red and the gold and it is damn strong going through all the other rangers with little trouble. Buredoran as a main villain is a neat peak into what we will see in the endgame of the show and honestly, I like the interaction and chemistry that these teams end up sharing is honestly one of the better interactions that we get between teams.
That being said, I do think that Ryunosuke's acting like a dick goes on for a bit too long, yeah his lord has been corrupted but I don't think the goseigers deserve the blame entirely on it. It is escpecially annoying that this is like the third time he has had to learn the whole non-samurai can help in whatever situation it gets a bit annoying. But aside from that as they are trying to mix their powers to help overcome the mixture of Buredoran and gedoshuu is really nice and it leads to Kaoru having a nice moment too and seeing it all play out is rather exciting.
Of course the big thing was the next sentai team the gokaigers who continued the early trend of rather cool intros for the next team, we get to see how they fight, the big gimmick they had going for that season, even their personalities while not fully formed at this point showed a much more anti-heroic team in comparison to what had come beforehand, even having watched Gokaiger prior to this, it did make me want to watch what comes next. Overall Goseiger vs. Shinkenger may not to measure up to what came afterwards, but it is still filled with some really solid moments of action and interactions between the teams. Arguably the biggest flaw is how Ryunosuke acts like a bit of a jerk. But it is one of the better.
RETURNS
So I have very little recollection of this one, I think it is better than shinkenger returns (A feat that is not too hard.) But I really have no recollection of this. The goseigers end up becoming celebrities when Alata's memory wipe spell does not work, so they have to do this while trying to figure out what has happened.
It is a more plot focused adventure than the previous return or Go-buster return, more like Ninningers in that way but it has completely passed me by, writing this now I cannot for the life of me remember anything of major note besides the final villain is a bigger bibi it is a thing just there, even rewatching leaves such a little impression, much of it you have seen before, producer who is evil, smear campaign, its not really saying anything about the show buisness that is done better else where, It isn't the worse but your not remebering this.
But yeah that was Goseigers films, 2 decent if forgettable films and one that blows both them and probably the entire season out of the water.
